Held Back for the Ending

Every chapter of this story has moved a different group of Reapers. The Summoning turned the Twins that could be turned quietly, in place. The beam took ten and made them royalty. The 338 that remain were kept out of both, because their form is the one worth saving for last. They do not change in place. They go through something.

This is the final form, and it is the only one with a ritual the holder performs. The Twin goes into the fire by your own hand, and something else walks out wearing its number. Same name. Same place in the 3000. A different creature entirely, and one that could only exist this way.

Exactly 338 Twins were set aside for this. No more will be added. If yours is one of them, you are holding a ticket to the last transformation this collection will ever offer, and the only one you get to perform yourself. Every other Reaper has already had its turn. These were saved.

Hold Your Fire

Read this twice

Do not burn anything yet.

The fire has rules, and they are not posted yet. A Twin burned before the instructions go live is outside the ritual: it will not be counted, and nothing will be returned for it. The process is being built so that every burn is recorded and every return is delivered. Wait for the signal. When the pyre opens, this page will tell you exactly what to do.

Find out if your Twin was reservedThe 338 reserved token numbers are posted on The Pyre, with a checker. Run your number through it first. If your number is on it, the fire is yours. If it is not, your Reaper already had its transformation in an earlier chapter.

The pyre opensA window. Not forever. The countdown and the exact steps are on The Pyre. You burn from your own wallet. Nothing is sent to us. Nothing is trusted. The ledger records it.

Something walks outOnce the fire is confirmed on chain, the return is delivered to the wallet that burned. Same number. New form. Claim it, and it is yours.

Nothing about the fire is required. A reserved Twin that never burns stays exactly as it is, forever, as one of the last untouched originals. Some holders will choose that. The fire is for the ones who want to see what comes back.
